Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

Truffle ("we", "us") operates trufflebuddy.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

What we collect

  • Your email address, only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Usage data, collected automatically: the pages you visit, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Anything you send us, for example if you email us a question.

We do not collect financial account details, and we will never ask you for your banking or brokerage logins.

Why we collect it

  • To send you the newsletter you asked for
  • To understand which articles are useful, so we can write better ones
  • To keep the site secure and working properly
  • To meet our legal obligations

Consent, and withdrawing it

By subscribing you consent to us using your email address to send you the newsletter. You can withdraw that consent at any time, either through the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us at hello@trufflebuddy.com. We will action it within a reasonable time. Withdrawing consent stops future emails, and it does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to measure traffic in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then work less well.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you apply for a product through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies to attribute the referral, and those are governed by their own privacy policies. Earning a commission never changes what we recommend.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the site, and only as far as they need it:

  • Hosting and content delivery
  • Content management
  • Email delivery for the newsletter
  • Website analytics

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Where your data is held

Our service providers may store and process data outside Singapore. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure a comparable standard of protection, as the PDPA requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can honour your unsubscribe request. Aggregated usage data, which does not identify you, may be kept longer.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No method of transmitting data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and how it has been used
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your data

Email hello@trufflebuddy.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
